Founder & Director
Tom Matthieson
Tom has spent 10 years in financial services, six of those working in UK regulated financial advice across various roles including as an adviser. That experience gave him a deep understanding of how firms operate, where the bottlenecks are, and what actually matters when it comes to servicing clients and staying compliant.
He then spent four years in a senior role at a fast-growing technology company, where he learned what it takes to scale a product, build the right processes, and deliver on promises to customers.
Tom founded Glimzer after seeing the gap between what advice firms actually need and what the existing tools deliver, and has assembled a team that combines deep industry knowledge with strong engineering capability.

Our story so far
2023
Company founded
Glimzer was founded to help UK financial advice firms run their operations more effectively. We started by working directly with firms to understand their challenges and building bespoke software solutions to solve them.
2025
Glimzer platform development begins
After working closely with advice firms, we started building Glimzer as a purpose-built platform for pipeline, clients, and compliance.
2025/26
Selected for FRIL and invited to join FinTech Scotland
Glimzer was selected for the Financial Regulation Innovation Lab, a programme run in partnership with the FCA, and presented at the Innovation Call alongside other leading fintech solutions. We were also invited to join FinTech Scotland, the national fintech hub supporting innovation in financial services.
2026
Product launched and onboarding pilot customers
The first version of the Glimzer CRM is live and we are onboarding our first pilot customers. The product is stable, actively used, and improving every week based on real feedback from real firms.
