We won't promise you a percentage. How much of this a modern system removes depends on how your firm runs today. A 30-minute demo against your own process is the honest way to find out.

Benchmark sources: clients per adviser from the FCA financial advice firms survey 2025; hours per review from NextWealth Financial Advice Business Benchmarks 2022. Admin and re-keying hours are your own estimate; we just do the arithmetic. For context, NextWealth's 2025 adviser tech research found back-office systems rated lowest of all advice technology, with fragmented systems and poor integration the recurring complaint (Professional Adviser). This is not about any one provider: it is the cost of processes that ask people to do what software should.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is this number realistic?

The defaults are deliberately cautious: clients per adviser from the FCA's adviser survey, hours per review from NextWealth's research, and the admin hours are whatever you enter. Set the inputs to match your own firm. Most firms find the result is larger than they expected, simply because this cost builds up quietly and is rarely measured.

Isn't switching systems an even bigger cost?

It's the right worry, and it's why we do migration differently. We move your data ourselves, validated before go-live, currently at no cost for early customers (subject to change), and you can run Glimzer's pipeline alongside your existing system first, with no migration at all on day one. The annual number above repeats every year; the switching cost doesn't.

How long does an annual client review take to prepare?

NextWealth's Financial Advice Business Benchmarks 2022 put the average at 5.5 hours per review. Firms vary widely, which is why the calculator lets you set your own figure.

How many clients does a typical UK adviser look after?

The FCA's 2025 financial advice firms survey puts the typical adviser at around 150 clients.

Is this calculator about a specific provider?

No. It prices the workload itself, whether that lives in spreadsheets, email or an older back-office system. The numbers are yours, and the benchmarks come from independent sources.

Spend those hours on clients instead.

We won't promise you a percentage; no honest vendor can without seeing your process. But spreadsheets, inboxes and rekeying are exactly the work Glimzer is built to remove. Book a 30-minute demo and judge for yourself.
